HL Borden Lumber and Hardware was started in 1912 in Strasburg, VA by the late Harry L. Borden. One of the original buildings was built for the manufacture of horse and mule shoes, but with the advent of the ‘horseless carriage’ it was converted to storage for hardwood lumber.
